Bud Canfield purchased the Skyline Inn 28 years ago from Joe & Rose Roberts. At that time, it was called Joe's Skyline Inn. He reopened the restaurant in November 1985. Bud previously operated the Lee's Liquor Store & Bar in Rock Island, Illinois for 18 years. Prior to that, he was employed at the former International Harvester Works, East Moline, Illinois.

Bud dreamed of owning his own bar & restaurant since he was a child growing up in Festus, Missouri where his parents owned their own bar & restaurant business. After serving in the military, he ran the family bar while his mother was the cook.

The Skyline Inn accommodates 175 - 200 guests, six days per week for dinner, serving lunch Monday through Friday. The Skyline's ambiance of airplanes & propellers suspended over the bar, and its proximity to the Quad City International Airport, makes it one of those special places for entertaining family. The Skyline Inn is open all major holidays. Banquets, dinner meetings, and special occasions are always welcome to reserve our private dining room.
